Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour championship, took control to force a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
